2014 was a year when I have openly admitted to myself that I truly do love makeup. I’ve never been a very artistic person but makeup has allowed me to feel that I do have my own way of playing with colours, shapes and textures. There are some definite products that I loved through the year of 2014 and I present to you the items I enjoyed playing with the most:
Base products – Bourjois Happy Light foundation and 123 Perfect CC cream have been my two go to products last year.
Primers – for eyes I found that Kiko Eye Base primer is a really good affordable primer that definitely works in prolonging your eye shadow. I have also fallen in love with Becca Radiance Primer this winter which is a total surprise and I will have to write up a separate post for it. I will also include Soap & Glory’s Youthful sunscreen in this category as it has been a great one to use under makeup.
Cheek products – Gosh’s blush in Flower Power has been on my face for many days and same goes for Soap & Glory’s Solar Powder bronzer. The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer is the best highlighter in the world! There, I’ve said it. I don’t think I used anything else for the whole year.
Brows – in the last year a found that tinted brow gels are my game changers. They just make them look so much better and allows to frame my face so that I don’t disappear behind glasses. Maybelline’s Brow Drama and L’Oreal’s Brow Artist have been my two favourite ones.
Concealers – I give my due to Collection Lasting Perfection concealer because I must always have it in my draws and basically use it on a daily basis. I have also liked Maybelline Dream Touch concealer for highlighting and L’Oreal True Match for my under eyes.
Eyes – Maybelline’s On and On Bronze shadow, oh my, I just don’t know what I would do without it or what I would have done without it in 2014 on those early rushed mornings. For liner I used L’Oreal’ss Super Liner cause it’s the easiest thing ever. I also put my hands down to L’Oreal Miss Manga mascara as being the best mascara I have tried so far (need to re-purchase it!).
Lips – 2014 was a year of lip liners and the best one I found is Gosh’s lip liner in Nougad Crisp. In summer I have enjoyed using Maybelline Colour Sensational lip glosses (I do have quite a few of them).
Brushes – there are two brushes that have been stand outs to me. Sephora Pro Airbrush I found is amazing for foundation applications and Real Techniques Duo Fiber powder brush is perfect for bronzing up my face.
