December Makeup Empties

The third post of my empties involves makeup products. Can you believe I have finished all of these?! Technically there are a few disappointing products that I am chucking away but most of them as you can see are properly empty things.

Eyeko Fat Brush Mascara – a mascara that did nothing to my lashes. If you like no makeup makeup maybe this one is for you but even if I have very minimal makeup on I want my lashes to stand out so I want my mascara to work for me. I think I am never going to get another Eyeko mascara as I have always been disappointed with them.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer – one of my favourite concealers. It’s an amazing product and very affordable. I will for sure get this again.

Eylure Brow Pencil in Dark Brown – I love this eyebrow pencil. It’s hard but not too hard, does not drag on your skin and leaves enough product. It has a spooly on another end so you always have something to brush your brows with. The pencil has lasted quite long so if you want to buy something that you don’t need to re-purchase too quickly then I recommend this brow pencil.

Essence Brow Gel – one of my faves! I will dedicate a post for this product on it’s own. It’s that good!

Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner – A great eyeliner, easy to use and is jet black matte.

Gosh Lip Oil – a very interesting lip moisturiser. I’m not sure how hydrating it really was but I loved the texture of the product and kept using it up just because of that.

Bodyshop Honey Bronze Drops – I really liked using this in summer. Not sure if it did give me much of a bronzed look but then I did use it all up, so maybe it did do what it was saying it would?

L’Oreal Slim Line Eyeliner – I liked this felt tip eyeliner, it was black, stayed well on my eyes and very easy to use.

EX1 Invisiwear Foundation in F100 – this is one of my favourite foundations and I wore it on my wedding day. I already have another tube of this magic in my stash.

L’Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist – a good highstreet makeup fixing mist. Good choice when on a budget which I normally am on.

Vichy Dermablend Translucent Powder – I cannot believe that I have used this up. Has anyone ever used up a big tub of translucent powder? I enjoyed using this and even more happy that I have finished it (only because I want to try other things)

L’Oreal Miss Hippy Mascara – one of my most favourite mascaras. It makes your lashes voluminous and dark. This was my mascara choice for my wedding and I need another tube of this goodness. I need to dedicate a post to this mascara.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – I have gone through multiple tubs of this. I use it for spot concealing or when the foundation did not cover enough of my rosacea and I need to add some more coverage for some parts of my face.

Becca Eye Brightening Corrector – I was given this by my friend as she found it did not cover her dark circles enough. I had quite high hopes for this product but I did not like it at all. It’s sticky and thick but not in a good way, it does not correct the blue circles and it makes any concealer crease which does not happen to me normally. It’s not worth the money or the effort in my opinion.

L’Oreal Nude Cushion Foundation – I have finished this quite quickly. I think I will write a separate post on this foundation so wait for my full review.

Phew, I don’t think I have ever managed to finish that many makeup products around the same time. I wonder if I bought them all around the same time and if that’s the case then maybe I should cap in my makeup hoarding….. Emmm… Yeah, not going to happen.

Current Favourite Lip Combination

My last post was about my January Favourites and somehow I totally forgot to add lip items to it. So I thought to myself that maybe a separate post would be welcomed as I truly believe that these two items are meant for each other.

For the past month and a couple of weeks I have been wearing Gosh lip liner in 001 Nougat Crisp and Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick in 04 Rose Tweed.

Firstly, Gosh lip liners are amazing! If you are a Mac lip liner kinda gal then please do give these a go. Their texture is somewhat better than Macs, they are less drying, easier to apply and not to forget less than half the price. Yes, the colour range is not that big but you can find a few liners that are definitely worth a spot in your make up drawers. One of those colours is Nougat Crisp. It’s a muted brownish pink that really falls under ‘that girls who everyone is talking about but I don’t want to mention the name’ category. It’s just beautiful, I can wear it on it’s own, under any nude lipstick which before was slightly not the right colour for me or with any pink toned lip item, be it a gloss or a lipstick. It just works wonders.

Now secondly, if you have not tried Bourjois Rouge Edition lipsticks then I again urge you to try one of them out. They are not matte so if you are on the matte trend then they might not work for you but if you are like me and like your lipsticks to be moisturising then these are definitely made for you. Rose Tweed is a muted pink lipstick which is just beautiful on it’s own. Please ignore my swatch which makes this lipstick look like it has shimmer as I assure you there is no shimmer involved in it. (I think I had eye shadow swatched before and did not do a good job of removing it properly.) When I got Rose Tweed first I think I was wearing it for many days consecutively without a stop until something else caught my interests.

Putting these two lip products was a great day for me. I just could not believe how they compliment each other. This combo is just great for ‘that trend’ as well as it still keeps it pink enough not to make you look like you’re from the 90s. I am very happy to have found these two and I think I will be seen wearing them for many more days.

What lip combinations have you been loving lately? Have you found your perfect match?

In search for the perfect Nude

Every girl is searching for that perfect nude lip colour that works with any look and enhances their lips just that bit more. I am still on the path of finding one and here is a collection that I have acquired so far.

First up something from L’oreal  which I believe has been discontinued. (Don’t shoot me if I’m wrong cause I totally could be on this point). Caresse Nude Ingenue has been my first lipstick-ish buy and the first step into the land of Nude. It’s a very share brown colour. I found that though I could get away with the shade the actual formula was a bit too share for my liking and I just have not wore it that much. Because of that and the fact that I had it for quite a while I have binned this product after I have taken the picture deciding that it was time for it to go.

The second lipstick is a re-discovery for me since all that Kylie Jenner trend that’s been happening. I was looking at my collection trying to figure out if I have a dupe for what Kylie wears or to all other things that I have seen in tutorials of her makeup. And this is where I have re-found Soap & Glory Naked Beige lipstick. It’s a dusky pink brown lipstick which falls into the Kylie’s trend perfectly. I don’t think you need to spend your money trying to get the exact thing that Kylie wears when you can find Naked Beige in your local Boots. Though this is not my perfect nude at all but it’s bang on trend right now and I am very happy to wear it. Oh, and by the way, the lipstick smells amazingly just as other Soap & Glory products. Is it wrong to say that I could probably sit and smell it out of the bullet for a long time?

Then comes something that has been inspired by the blogging world. I bought Maybelline’s Tantalizing Taupe from the CoulorSensational line after hearing a lot of good reports on it. I was very excited by it but must say that I do regret getting it and it’s only because of the colour. I think it’s a bit too lite for me and when I put it on it washes me out. I look like I have bad foundation on or just dead persons lips. The formula of the lipstick is great and it can work very well on other people but just not me. I’m still keeping it in my stash with the hope that I will find a way to make it work but I have a feeling that I should just give up and give it away to someone else. Same with the other Maybelline product in my photo which I bought and never wore it. I don’t have it with me anymore as I got rid of it when I was clearing out my things too so I can’t remember what exact colour/name it was. But this too just washed me out in a pretty bad way.

Gosh Nude velvet touch lipstick is one I am still trying to adopt on myself. It’s a bit darker pinky nude than the Tantalizing Taupe but not as dark or as brown like S&G Naked Beige. It’s a very nice formula lipstick and the purchase was totally inspired by Barbara from ThePersianbabe. Again, I’m afraid that it could be too lite for me but I have not come to any rushed decisions yet. Watch this space for any updates as I’m putting all efforts to make it work.

And then I have a nude crayon lipstick from Rimmel called Drive Me Nude, that is if internet search is not lying about it’s name. I just swatched it on my hand and it looks very similar to Tantalizing Taupe but it’s just a little bit darker (more pinky-er) and when I say a little bit I mean a very little bit. I find the formula of this “stick” does cling to my dry patches on the lisp and just doesn’t sit that great on me. Again, I’m still trying to see if I’m doing something wrong and there is another way to use it cause I don’t want to waist it.

You can see that I get taken over by light pinky nudes quite a bit but a lot of them just do not work for me. Sometimes I think that maybe I should just leave the road of nudes and admit that pinks in general looks better for me (not nude pinks) but at the same time I refuse to give up. One day I might stumble onto that perfect nude, you never know…

What do you think, have you found your perfect nude or are you still in search for it? Have you done what I have done and invested your money in bunch of nudes that don’t work for you?
