December Haircare Empties

This is the first instalment of empties posts that I am going to make. I have collected a lot of used up products and I want to not only get rid of them but also write up all of the posts so that I could move on writing other posts. So this is what I have finished using from Haircare:

Lee Stafford Coco Loco Shampoo – ok, so this shampoo… I thought it would be coconut scented but it is not. That was a massive disappointment number one, then it also made me feel like it did not wash my hair very well. I felt like it made my hair greasy rather than washed so honestly I hated using it. I will not purchase this ever again and I can’t believe I used it all up instead of getting rid of it.

Tresemme Botanique Conditioner – A very affordable and great conditioner. At least this one gives a little bit of that coconut scent that I look for in coconut products. I think it worked pretty well to detangle and you get a lot of product so I used it without the need to limit myself on how much product I would like to put on. Would get this one again if I would find it on an offer. (I like my bargains)

Have you guys used these products before? If so, what were your thoughts about them?

An Empty Affair – May Empties

May has ended very quickly but I do not regret it. It has been a busy month and the end of May means I am closer to going on a holiday (first one this year). The end of month also means the end of some products and a dedicated post to them. Here is what have ended up in my ‘Empty Affair’:

Super Facialist By Una Brennan Tea Flower Deep Clean Mask – I have loved using this clay mask. I think this is the best affordable mask that does help with oil control and making skin look clean and taken care off. Once I finish a clay mask that I have currently I will be repurchasing this one for sure. It’s as good as ant high end offering.

Super Facialist By Una Brennan Vitamin C+ Daily Wash – I have enjoying using this face wash every day. I do have a review for this product that you can find here.

Muji Cream Cleanser – this is a basic no nonsense face cleanser. If I have found it when I was a bit younger I would have used it a lot. I don’t think I will buying this again just because these days I am looking for something more extra. Though, if you are on a budget and have very sensitive skin then I do think that this a good product to try.

OGX Coconut Water Conditioner – if you have read my last weeks post then you can see a little coconut theme repeating here. I liked this conditioner, I think you get a lot of product for your money and it works ok.

Vichy Purete Thermale Purifying Toner – it’s nice, non irritating toner. I have kind of got off toners for a bit but if one day I will be going back on to them then this one is a definite contender.

Bioderma – the best micellaire water! That’s all I need to say about it.

What have you guys used up in May? Do you have anything to recommend me to try next?

Maria Nila Pure Volume Shampoo Review

I have pretty normal hair, it’s not super duper oily where I need to wash it every day and not too dry where I need to slather myself in oil. But one thing that my hair does do is look flat and uninteresting. Therefore I am always keen to try new volumising products (especially if they do not specifically require a blow dry).

I have picked up Maria Nila Volume Shampoo a while ago from Sallys’ and have been using it every time I wash my hair. Maria Nila shampoo range is developed for colour treated hair but anyone can use it. If you try to avoid sls and parabens in your hair care then this one is worth looking into. I think this is the best sls free shampoo I have ever used so far. If it would not state on the bottle that it does not have sls then I would never know because the product lathers very well. It washes out easily and does not leave your hair feeling full of product and oily. Maria Nila also did a great job with the scent of this shampoo, every time I wash my hair I feel like I’m in the salon getting a nice pamper. (I wish!) In regards to noticing any volume difference I cannot say much. It does not have any dramatic difference but at the same time it definitely does not weight the hair so that’s where the volume bit is.

I am starting to run out of this and quite sad that my local Boots or Superdrug does not stock this range. Next time I am in Sallys’ I will be surely picking this up or something else from the range. Big thumbs up for the best sls shampoo in the market.

Have you tried Maria Nila products before? Or would you have any other good volumising shampoos to recommend me?

An Empty Affair – Hair Care Empties

I have a massive pile of used up products and it took me a lot of effort to kick my ass and get them sorted out. It’s very hard to motivate myself to take any pictures in winter when there is no light and darkness rules every single day. But I have finally picked up my camera and did some shots. Be prepared for an overload of empties posts, I had so much stuff saved up in the last couple of months that I had to split things apart. This empty products post consists of used up hair care items, I hope you will enjoy it.

John Frieda Beach Blonde Conditioner and Sea Salt Spray – I have reviewed these two before. One day I will be purchasing them again. I do like to try different hair products so I might not rush to get them but I did like them very much so I know that one day they will end up in my shelves again.

CoLab Dry Shampoo in Tokyo – This is my favourite dry shampoo. I am currently trying out a different scent of the same brand. I want to try each one before I can tell you my exact favourite scent.

L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil – this is a really lovely hair oil. I have fine hair that can be weighed down very easily and I found that this oil does not do that. The bottle lasted me for a couple of years which is amazing. Because I want to try other oils I will not be purchasing it any time soon. However, if you are in the market for a new oil and want to get a product that will last you then I recommend to go for the Extraordinary Oil. It’s really good.

OGX Sea Mineral Moisture Shampoo – I am still on the roll for the beachy waves look. This shampoo does smell a little bit like seaweed but nothing too strong. I think that the John Frieda offering is slightly nicer. I like OGX shampoos in general but I did not fall in love this one.

What have you guys used up in the last month or so?

Hair Products for Beachy Waves

The summer has now truly left us but my wish for the beachy locks has not faded away. I am still looking for ways to get that effortless hair style that reminds me of fun careless days. The current items I am using to help me to achieve ‘out of the sea’ looking hair style are:

Beach Blonde Cool Dip Shampoo & Smooth Seas Conditioner. It took me a while to get my hands on these products because for some reason when it came out I thought that the range is dedicated to blonde people. I think the name have mislead me but once I knew that the products can be used by any hair colour I bought them. First and foremost I adore the smell of them, it’s minty and fresh – a total joy to use. It definitely reminds me of summer which is way I might be using these products come winter as well. I find that the shampoo washes away any dirt or product residue well and I m always left with clean, not weight down hair. The conditioner helps to keep the ends of the hair moisturised and does help to detangle a little bit. I do feel that before washing my hair when I need to brush them out I need a little bit more help with detangling so I use Johnson’s Baby Spray Conditioner no more tangles. You an use this on both wet and dry hair (I prefer the latter). It does work well and it is very affordable.

After washing my hair I like to use two products that have sea salt so that they would allow my waves to look more like what you would get if you were at the beach. OGX Moroccan Surf Paste is quite an interesting product and I’m not sure if I worked out the best way to use it. It’s texture is a little bit like an old fashion styling paste but it has sea salt and oils. It is supposed to keep moisture in your hair but help to style more prominent beachy waves. I take a pea sized amount of product into my hands, rub it between the hands to warm it up a bit and then run through the hair and try to scrunch them at the same time. (If any of you have used this product could you let me know how you use it?) I also spray hair with Beach Blonde Sea Waves sea salt spray. Now this one smells not like min but like coconut. Amazing! I do spray quite a bit as I have long hair but you do have to be careful not to overdue it as it could make your hair feel a little bit crispy.

I love all these products and I am very happy with them. I am still on the look on anything else that would help me to get that sexy effortless beach look so if you guys have any suggestions please leave me a comment.
