H&M Makeup Haul Review

In my last post I have talked about a makeup haul that I did. I have picked up a few bits from H&M to try out. Now that I have used the products I can tell you what I think of them.

I have got 2 H&M nail polishes and so far I have been enjoying wearing them. They don’t last on me super long but they don’t chip super quick either, just an ordinary lasting power. Pearl Bisque is a pearlescent white and I really like it for this time of the year. It’s got that holiday sheen and is not a stark white. Purple Aurora (pictured above) is a duochrome purple with a hint of metallic green.  I’m not sure if the duochrome effect translates once the nail polish is on the nails but I think it is still a nice colour.

I really like creamy liquid like eyeshadows so when I saw H&M Fluid Hues Eye Colour I knew I had to give it a try and I can tell you that it’s love. These are very pigmented & stay on the eyelids for the whole day. You need to work with them fairly fast cause once they set they do set.  You can use your fingers to blend out if you fancy so it makes it a very easy use eyeshadow. The colour I got is Shifting Sands which is a beautiful light bronze.

I have to admit that I have not had time to try the H&M Treasured Eye Gems but I can’t wait to find the perfect occasion to whip these babies out.

Overall I am very impressed with the H&M makeup and I think that they are great purchases. I am now thinking that maybe I should go and get some more items from them. If you have tried anything let me know how stuff worked for you.

July Mini Haul

Ok, ok I put my hands up and admit that whenever I pop into the shop to look one thing up I always check what’s new in the whole shop. What if there is something new that I did not know about it and I need it? What if I don’t need it but it’s new and I might want it? Yes, I am one of those people who most likely will walk out of the shop with a few extra things than originally anticipated. My last trip into one of the high-street pharmacy shops led me to this mini haul that I would like to share with you.

I originally went into Boots looking for a toner. I’ve heard that they have the new Vichy Purete Thermale range in stock and I wanted to check it out. I ran out of toner so I though that it would be great to try the toner from that range. My understanding that Vichy Purete Thermale products have been made for sensitive skin with ‘city life’ in mind and I do prefer this type of sensitive skin products. I was very excited to see the Perfecting Toner on the shelves (Boots did not have it on their website when I checked) so I picked it up. It’s a very simple toner made from a few products which is exactly what I like. I use it after cleansing to make sure that all makeup is definitely removed as well as to take off any cleansers if there’s any residue left on the skin. So far I like this toner and see no issues with it.

After I picked the toner up, of course, I ‘had to’ browse makeup isles and check what’s new there. I spotted a few new nail polish colours in the Maybelline stall. They have released a Summer Bliss collection. I love their Super Stay 7 Day polish formula so it was no brainer that I should pop some of them into my basket. I chose Sun Kissed as it’s a perfect polish for the summer. Sun Kissed is a muted pastel-y orange and if you like Models Own Beach Bag then the Maybelline counterpart is a much more wearable colour with better application and formula. It goes on totally non streaky and stays on nails without chipping definitely more than 3 days. It is just perfect for this time when we are getting a bit of the tan. The other colour that I gravitated is Nude Rose. I thought it was also a new colour as I have never seen it before but it looks like it was released a while ago. I love muted pink nail polishes as they make my hands look really nice, they just suit my skin tone and my hands. I just could not not get it because it is such a me colour and I truly love it. I think Nude Rose can be warn throughout the whole year and I will get a lot of use out of it.

At the end of the shop I have decided to pick up my first Soap & Glory shower product. Why? Because I haven’t tried any of them. Sure, I have some of the Soap & Glory makeup and I have tried the hand cream but I never have used any of their soaps. I went for Whipped Clean Shower Butter as I wanted a nice moisturising product that I could use for shaving my legs. Yes, you read that right, shaving my legs! It is summer and I want to have my legs out to catch as much sun as possible so a girl needs to make sure that there is no hair involved in that. I have used it once already and it’s pretty great. It is is like a butter and very moisturising on the skin. It allows to get a great clean shave and also smells really nice. Definitely recommend trying it out if you haven’t. I’m hoping that the bottle will last for a while as it’s not super cheap in my opinion.

I’m happy I managed to leave Boots with only 4 products and not more. Have you done a haul recently? Have you tried any of the above products or have any good alternatives to them? Let me know.
