H&M Makeup Haul Review

In my last post I have talked about a makeup haul that I did. I have picked up a few bits from H&M to try out. Now that I have used the products I can tell you what I think of them.

I have got 2 H&M nail polishes and so far I have been enjoying wearing them. They don’t last on me super long but they don’t chip super quick either, just an ordinary lasting power. Pearl Bisque is a pearlescent white and I really like it for this time of the year. It’s got that holiday sheen and is not a stark white. Purple Aurora (pictured above) is a duochrome purple with a hint of metallic green.  I’m not sure if the duochrome effect translates once the nail polish is on the nails but I think it is still a nice colour.

I really like creamy liquid like eyeshadows so when I saw H&M Fluid Hues Eye Colour I knew I had to give it a try and I can tell you that it’s love. These are very pigmented & stay on the eyelids for the whole day. You need to work with them fairly fast cause once they set they do set.  You can use your fingers to blend out if you fancy so it makes it a very easy use eyeshadow. The colour I got is Shifting Sands which is a beautiful light bronze.

I have to admit that I have not had time to try the H&M Treasured Eye Gems but I can’t wait to find the perfect occasion to whip these babies out.

Overall I am very impressed with the H&M makeup and I think that they are great purchases. I am now thinking that maybe I should go and get some more items from them. If you have tried anything let me know how stuff worked for you.

H&M Makeup Haul

I did a little H&M makeup haul. I walked into H&M and just could not resist some of their makeup. It’s affordable, looks pretty good and hope that it also works ok on me.

I got two nail polishes, a liquid eyeshadow and some sparkly gems to go on the skin (Christmas funky makeup!)

I’m going to try them all out and report back to you how it all works out.

Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Polish Review

Barry M has come out with a new nail formula which uses coconut water and coconut oil. You probably know all about them by now but I am only mentioning them on my blog now because I wanted to try all of the shades and use the product properly before writing any reviews.

There were two reasons why I have purchased the new Coconut Infusion polishes, one is because I have been wanting to try a more healthy nail polish option and two the colours just drawn me in and I had to have them. The three colours that I chose from the collection are: Flamingo, Laguna, Surfboard. All of these colours are perfect summer colours. One swatch of them is already quite opaque so you don’t need to layer them up too much. The nail polishes do have a smell which is slightly different than a normal nail polish but it does smell so don’t expect a coconut flavour. (I got a bit disappointed *laughs at myself*) I have read quite a few reviews when these came out claiming that Barry M Coconut Infusion polishes stay on your nails without chipping for at least 4 days. Well, let me tell you that unfortunately for me I found them quite the opposite. They chip pretty easily on my nails and by a second day there is definitely visible annoying chipped marks. The blue one Laguna did not last even a day without chipping. I don’t know how everyone else is finding them pretty well lasting but I do not. Despite this I still really like them, I think the colours are so beautiful that I am continuing wearing them.

I have really been enjoying Barry M Coconut Infusion nail polishes. Have you guys tried them? Do they last on you? Am I missing some sort of trick with them?

From Summer to Autumn with nail polish

I’m a girl who does not like nails. Now that’s a weird statement. But really, I don’t like nails, if I would have to take all human body parts and list the most un-favourite ones then that would be nails. And it could sound strange when you could find my forever having my nails painted. The fact is that I like to hide them under colour. When nails are coloured then I do not see them when I look at my hands, I see colour. Life is much more interesting with colour, isn’t it? So here are two colours that have hidden my nails.

First up is Gelly High-Shine nail polish in Huckleberry by Barry M. It’s a very pale baby blue colour which you probably could even call an off-white blue. I found that this particular colour doesn’t wear for long and chips a bit easier than the other polishes from the same range but it’s such perfect summer colour. Though the summer has left us I think it can still transition us to autumn but if you like wearing pastels come spring/summer then definitely pick this one in a few months.

The other colour which works perfectly for this time of the year is Gelly High-Shine nail polish in Elderberry. It’s a grey blue colour that to me leans more to grey than green. I think it’s perfect colour that fits with the grey surroundings that we have here in London. If you are looking for a new autumn colour but you don’t want to wear anything black then that’s the one to go for.

Have you got any recommendation for autumn nail polish? Did you try any of these two nail polishes already?
